Fragile Creatures – Don’t Know What To Do

Don’t Know What To Do is a heartfelt song resembling the band’s anxiety and lack of motivation in a contrasting catchy tone. Released by Fragile Creatures in 2023, this hit is the kind of song you can listen to as you reflect on life and the uncertainties of the future. Fragile Creatures was formed in Brighton dating all the way back to 2012 and is currently building up an album for this year. The core of the band are Adam Kidd, Tom Alty, and Aaron Neville. Recent additions include James Crump on the drums and Adam Whittles on the bass. Don’t Know What To Do is a simple yet genre-defining beautiful song.

Despite its catchy and upbeat tone, the theme of the song and the lyrics are quite the opposite. This hit talks about negativity and the uneasy feeling of having no purpose and being lost in a storytelling manner throughout the track. The exceptional drum roll at the beginning of the song and the rock-ballad style of the jumpy bass and guitar has the listener hooked in, catching its attention. This carries on, and leads to mesmerizing parts of the song as the guitar detaches from the jumpy bass and starts playing high notes and riffs emphasizing shifting the tone. The vocals and the whole song just has a certain swing feel to it that makes your body unconsciously dance. This sort of realistic and grounded and genre-defining music is Fragile Creatures’ trademark. If you’re feeling lost and want to rock out and feel at the same time this song is the way to go.
