Chayne – The C.K.D.

What do you know about teenage pop prodigies? Chayne, this 17-year-old alt-pop artist working out of Southern France, is sparking a revolution right from her family’s home studio. And her track “The C.K.D.” is bold, cinematic, and gloriously rough around the edges—a gem that channels raw indie glam rock with a fearless, modern twist.

From the very first line, “The C.K.D.” plunges you into a world teetering on the edge. The opening hits hard with “queuing up to get inside, Everything is burning down”—setting up this chaotic, almost apocalyptic party scene. And against this backdrop of society melting down with “tanks lining up,” Chayne spins a killer story about personal obsession and youthful boldness. Here’s the kicker: while the world’s falling apart, our main character’s mind isn’t filled with fear. Nope. They’ve got one burning thought: “how I’m gonna get next to you.” Now that’s pure rock and roll—finding your personal anthem while everything else goes to hell.

There’s something about mysterious chants that just works, and when Chayne belts out “I won’t change nothing, won’t change me,” she’s tapping into what rock’s always been about. The lady’s got that conviction that makes you believe every word. By the time she’s hammering that “O.F.U. to the C.K.D.” over and over at the end, you’re left catching your breath, totally buzzed on the energy.

Chayne’s originally from England but now calls the area near Perpignan home. She’s got this blend of French and English influences that totally comes through in her music. And damn – she writes and records everything herself while going to school full-time. Yeah, you heard that right.

“The C.K.D.” is the sound of a compelling voice not arriving, young but pro. Chayne has the attitude, the vision, and the talent to back it up. Watch this space.
