A Rally Cry in Rock: Josh Orange Roars with Purpose
Josh Orange’s latest single “Believers & Dreamers (What Have We Become)” is a moment. An eruption. A fiery, full-bodied demand that we stop pretending everything is okay and start really looking around. From the opening notes, there’s a tension that builds like a storm over Sydney’s skyline, brooding, restless, and refusing to be ignored.
Recorded at Everland Studios and mixed by the legendary Tim Palmer (yes, that Tim Palmer of Pearl Jam’s Ten), this track brings twenty years of seasoned musicality to a head. There’s a sweeping scale here, a sense of something vast and urgent. Guitarist Andrew Wass’s production gives it muscle, while Kaela Harp’s contribution on the harp offers a surprising elegance, a grace note amid the grit. And then, out of nowhere, a last-minute saxophone hook, raw and intuitive, seals the deal. It’s a goosebumps moment.
There’s no sugarcoating, this is a protest wrapped in melody. It echoes the frustration and fatigue so many are feeling, but it channels that into something bigger: an anthem. Think The Killers with an Irish-Australian soul and a conscience. It’s rock music with teeth, purpose, and heart. With “Believers & Dreamers,” Josh Orange doesn’t just speak to the times, they shout back at them. And it’s a sound we need to hear.
