Faith in Foxholes, the creative and musical indie artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico, has released an amazing new EP entitled Black. It features five distinct and amazing tracks in the artist’s signature style but with a fresh new twist. The first track in the EP is called Healed By Now and is dominated by strong vocals, slick guitar licks, and an overall darker tone.
The upbeat and lively style of the artist we talked about in our previous reviews of his first album, Blue, has completely transformed into an all-new style with this fresh EP. The signature elements of Faith in Foxholes from chimes and melodic lyrics are still present, but new elements such as loud percussions, striking guitar licks, and punchy bass lines are added to the mix. This creates a new and unique sound in the indie rock genre blended with the artist’s style. The song starts with a simple beat and a bassline in the background with chimes and smooth electric guitar licks. The vocals from the artist are mixed with vocal reverb effects similar to those used by bands such as Arctic Monkeys, creating a different and darker style. The song’s uniqueness comes from its dynamic structure, such as a short electric guitar break after the first verse and the emotive hook with strong growls around the middle of the track. No part of the track is repeated or the same, making it feel continuous from start to end. Overall, this song leaves a lasting and striking impression that is different from the usual work done by the artist.
