20 Year Short Break – Stardust

20 Year Short Break is a rock band emphasizing honest and heartfelt awesome music. The group started with its founders Dan Wright and Rob Miller on the guitar and vocals respectively. The band’s name comes from the original duo’s 20-year-hiatus since their last musical endeavor. They later evolved into a full-fledged band with Alex Kugler on the lead guitar, Stefan Endisch on bass, and Andi Kaiser on drums. Each member showcases their talent and authenticity through the sound and passion brought about by the music.

Their latest release, Stardust is an exceptional song with many feel-good moments and amazing hooks. Through this track, listeners feel the genuineness of its melodic chant-like lyrics and catchy beats. In this rendition, audiences will experience the sensation of natural and reflective hard-hitting rock. Opening the song with a simple layered guitar rhythm and outstanding vocals from Rob Miller, the tune grows to a climactic drop. Here, the percussions from Andi Kaiser enter the song adding more depth and kick as he utilizes the crash and ride cymbals. All members add their unique style to the sound such as Alex’s electric guitar licks, Stefan’s simple bass lines, and Dan Wright’s punchy rhythm. Another nice detail is the small usage of a maracas-like sound in certain parts. The song can effectively build a hopeful and cheerful tone with its passionate soundscape. Additionally, consider checking the other versions of Stardust, such as the softer piano and modern electronic renditions.
