Durham’s own rock outfit, The Casbahs, have shaken off a three-year silence and returned swinging with their new single, “Electric Daydreams.” This is a pedal-to-the-metal announcement that they’re back, they’re sharper, and they’re more amped up than ever. Released on September 19th, 2025, this track is the first taste of their forthcoming second album and serves as a powerful statement of intent.
The band came together back in 2019, built around the combo of vocalist Niall Fenwick (who’s got pipes for days) and guitarist Joe Teasdale. They’ve clearly spent their time off getting even tighter. Jack Walker’s laying down some seriously solid bass lines while Harry Mason’s drums jam you right in the chest – together they’re creating this unstoppable groove that you literally feel in your bones. And here’s where it gets really interesting: guitarist Steven Grainger jumped on board in 2024, and wow, has he brought some fresh fire to the mix. You can hear how his arrival has sparked something new in The Casbahs’ sound.
Right up front, Niall Fenwick’s vocals absolutely rip. The guy’s got pipes that cut through all the instrumental madness, giving you something melodic to grab onto while everything else goes wild around you. The band says they built this whole release to hook you and make you slam that repeat button – and man, they weren’t kidding. Those monster guitar tones paired with Fenwick’s voice are a knockout combo right there.
The whole thing sounds massive but still has that raw edge, like catching them live when they’re totally locked in and firing on all cylinders. The Casbahs are here to absolutely blow your mind, and “Electric Daydreams” proves it in spades.
